The software-concept allows customization to individual needs of the current application by individual programming levels and an integrated script-model. With the help of the integrated detailed event protocol, difficult environment conditions can be easily recognized, thus avoiding and minimizing down-times.

The standard system includes an integrated solvent recovery unit, automatic phasing and viscosity control along with all the other features, which are "state of the art" in the industrial continuous inkjet world.

Innovation

Here are some of the new innovations that make this ink jet printer in a class by itself: The user interface terminal is running under "Windows XP-Embedded" operating system, offering the potential to integrate Windows-Software modules and peripherals directly into the system using a "glue-less" method thus extending the standalone printing system into a complete solution for special applications.

The embedded version of Windows-XP is a very robust operating system designed for industrial use. This operating system includes many features like a USB port and an Ethernet port allowing for an almost unlimited memory and or peripheral expansion

The electronics print Controller is powered by a 312 MHz 32-bit XScale controller, which runs independently from the user interface terminal. This controller runs under a Windows-CE operating system, which enables a very real time operating system together with powerful software features.

Maintenance

The main systems highly transparent hardware architecture provides easy access and is very user friendly. The ink system, which includes the ink and solvent tanks, can be accessed directly through the front door. The electronics are placed in the rear area and can be serviced by folding down the back cover. If necessary, the side doors also can be opened and or removed, so that inspection can be done from all sides. This enables the operator and service technicians to complete any necessary service quickly and efficiently.

The basic idea for the CodeCUBE design was to create a clear structure and avoid complex menu trees. Reduction to the basic functionality allowed the creation of a user interface which is very simple and easy to learn. The slogan: “Less is more!” helps in reducing costs at the production line because the operation of the machine can be kept short and simple. Only high quality parts are used within the whole system, especially within the sensitive ink system, to guarantee durable safe operation of the CodeCUBE.

The CodeCUBE offers up-to-date standards, which normally could not be expected in this price class. A USB-Stick can be used to transfer text and configurations. The network, which is included as standard, allows remote screen access from within the company intranet as well as a complete TCP/IP communication protocol to control the printer via any PLC / Computer.

The XScale print controller that was implemented as the heart of the system works at a speed of 312 MHz under a “Windows-CE ®“ operating system, which guarantees hard real time behavior in combination with powerful software features. 6 mega byte of memory are available for storage of print messages.

The refillable reservoirs are easily accessible through a hinged panel at the top of the housing. Cleaning of the print head can be done even when ink stream is switched on. For maintenance purposes the hood can be removed, giving direct access to all components of the CodeCUBE.
